Warning: fake emails and fake Facebook pages in circulation

August 14, 2024

In recent days, we have noticed an increase in fake emails and fake Facebook pages posing as BCM. These emails ask you to take action, for example, otherwise your account would be closed due to alleged regulations. You are asked via a link to send additional information. Don't do this! BCM will never ask you for your passwords. The emails are not only sent to BCM customers. For BCM customers, the mail does have more credibility, so we want to give extra warning about this.

Fake Facebook pages

Besides fake emails, we also see fake Facebook pages popping up promising that you can win crypto currency if you click on a url. We will always communicate promotional actions through our official channels. So always check if you are dealing with an official page or a fake.

Safety first

The most important thing you can do to protect yourself from hacks and scams is to stay alert. Always check the senders of emails and the URLs of websites where you enter sensitive information. Be aware that both websites and e-mail addresses can be easily counterfeited. Never spread your login information.

Strengthen your security with 2FA

One of the most effective steps to secure your account is to set up two-factor authentication (2FA). We recommend using an app such as Authy or Google Authenticator, as they are more secure than 2FA via SMS.
